Washington DC has become one of the East Coast’s most active pickleball cities, with 130+ courts spread across public parks, recreation centers, and dedicated indoor venues.

The DC Department of Parks and Recreation has added 58 outdoor courts and 19 indoor sites since 2019, and the community keeps growing. The city’s four-season climate means outdoor play runs strong from March through November, with indoor options covering the winter months.

Here’s where to find the major courts in Washington DC.

Turkey Thicket Recreation Center

One of the most popular public pickleball spots in the city. Open play gatherings run Mondays 6:30–9:00 PM and Saturdays 8:30–11:30 AM. First-come, first-served. Portable nets available through the rec center front desk.

Palisades Recreation Center

Kraken Kourts & Skates

DC’s largest dedicated indoor pickleball facility at 70,000 sq ft. Drop-in play available at all skill levels. Reservations recommended during peak hours. Near the Rhode Island Ave Metro stop on the Red Line.
