Oceanside has a growing pickleball scene anchored by Melba Bishop Park, the city’s dedicated pickleball hub with 11 outdoor courts. Between city-run facilities, a golf course complex, and two indoor gym options, there are 30+ courts available across public and private locations.

This is the center of Oceanside pickleball. The Melba Bishop Pickleball Boosters Association runs organized open play Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 8–11 AM. Tuesday mornings are reserved for women’s play (“Chickleball”), and Thursday is league day. Courts 1–3 are always reserved for open play and can’t be rented out. Seven courts are designated social, four are competitive. All skill levels show up, and the group is welcoming to newcomers. Bring your own paddle.
Arrowood Golf Course

Arrowood runs free weekly events including Whack-It Wednesdays (free open play) and a free men’s clinic on Thursdays. It’s more of a social scene than a pure pickleball facility — expect live music nights, food, and drinks. Good option if Melba Bishop is full or you want a more casual vibe. The best indoor option in town. Located right at the beach next to the pier, it’s a city-run gym with scheduled pickleball sessions. The $3 drop-in is hard to beat. The city has also run Cosmic “black light” Pickleball nights here on Mondays — check the current schedule.
