Kirkland has a small but active pickleball scene with courts spread across city parks and a dedicated indoor facility. Outdoor play is free and first-come, first-served. The city is planning more courts at Peter Kirk Park as demand grows.

Four temporary courts on the former Houghton Park and Ride site. The two eastern courts operate as challenge courts; the two western courts are timed (30-minute rotations when players are waiting).

Eastside Tennis Center

Can I just show up and play at Kirkland’s outdoor courts?

Yes. All outdoor courts — Everest Park, Houghton Park and Play, and Van Aalst Park — are free and first-come, first-served. No reservation system exists for outdoor play. Courtesy rotation rules apply when courts are full: one game to 11 points at Everest Park, and 30-minute timed slots at Houghton’s western courts.
