Chicago has one of the most active pickleball scenes in the Midwest, with 200+ courts spread across public parks, dedicated indoor clubs, and private facilities. The city’s Pickleball Mania initiative added dozens of dedicated courts to parks on every side of the city, and year-round indoor options keep the game going through winter.

Chicago’s largest dedicated pickleball complex, opened in 2023 as the centerpiece of the Park District’s Pickleball Mania initiative. All 16 courts have permanent lines and nets. First-come, first-served with no reservations.

Maggie Daley Park

One of the most scenic spots to play in the country, with skyline and lakefront views. Organized open play runs weekday mornings from 9 AM–12 PM, drawing 50–70 players on a typical day. Portable nets are available. Walk-on play only, no reservations.

Warren Park Field House

A popular north side hub with both outdoor and indoor options. All courts have permanent lines with portable nets available at the front desk. Open play, mixed levels, paddle rotation system when busy. Indoor courts use a shared gymnasium space with a wood floor.

SPF Lincoln Park

Chicago’s largest dedicated indoor pickleball facility at 42,000 square feet. Instant replay technology on all courts. DUPR-rated games and skill-based open play available. Also has locations in Irving Park and Hyde Park. Free to enter for spectators and socializing.

Can I just show up and play at Chicago’s public courts?

Yes. All Chicago Park District outdoor courts are free and first-come, first-served. There is no reservation system for public outdoor courts. Grant Park and Maggie Daley both use a paddle rotation system during busy hours. Bring your own paddle and balls, or borrow equipment from nearby fieldhouses.
