Bio
Parris Todd went from junior tennis prodigy to one of pickleball’s most dynamic competitors in a remarkably short window. At five years old, she surprised her parents by asking for a tennis racket, despite them having zero connection to the sport. By eight, her father enrolled her at the Bollettieri Tennis Academy in Florida, and her trajectory shifted into overdrive.
Todd dominated USTA junior tennis, ranking #1 regionally and nationally in the girls’ 10s and 12s age groups. By 13, she was competing against players in the 14s, 16s, and 18s brackets. At 14, she became an alternate for the WTT Orange County Breakers and began competing on the professional ITF tour, accumulating 85+ tennis titles across domestic and international competition.
Between tennis seasons, Todd launched her fashion brand Waisted, USA, designing contemporary sportswear and streetwear for young women. When the pandemic slowed down the tennis world in 2020, she picked up a pickleball paddle at the Newport Beach Country Club and fell in love with the sport. She started competing seriously in late 2021 and entered her first professional tournament in January 2022.
Career Timeline:
- 2013: Joined WTT Orange County Breakers as alternate; began ITF Pro tour at age 14
- 2021: Transitioned to professional pickleball
- 2022: Won 2 MLP titles with Team BLQK; named MLP MVP in Columbus
- 2023: Triple Crown at the US Open; 25+ medals on APP & PPA Tours
- 2024: Joined Orlando Squeeze for MLP; signed multi-year deal with Franklin Sports
- 2025: Solidified top-10 status across all divisions; featured in Super Bowl commercial
Known for blending power with finesse, Todd’s tennis-forged groundstrokes pair with soft hands and smart resets that keep opponents guessing. Her aggressive singles game is widely considered her strongest format, but she’s proven increasingly dangerous in doubles.
